When a couple remarries in a post-WWII mining town in Idaho, their family entangles with her first husband's, wealthy mining investors. The choices of the three will alter the course of the local economy, their children, and a generations-old apple orchard.

In 2007, a mortgage crisis pushes a Silicon Valley couple to her family’s historic sheep ranch in Paradise Valley, Nevada. They look forward to a more authentic life in the reclaimed (if not haunted) ranch house--a perfect space for a B&B, à la Sunset Magazine. But she must navigate the dual-edged nature of her inheritance before their family can thrive.
